This is the traditional style of fisherman's smock originally worn by them to keep their woolen jumpers underneath clean. It now has full length sleeves and two front pockets to adapt to the many uses it now covers. Traditionally these garments are not overlocked. The 'V' neck smock was developed for wearing over shirts and blouses. It is easier to get on and off than the traditional crew neck and is a ideal when you want a bit more style and protection from the wind is not so important. Traditionally these garments are not overlocked. The original smock had 3/4 length sleeves and no pockets but these are now replaced with full length sleeves and 2 big patch pockets on the front that have re-enforced stitching on the pockets .
