All our smocks are made locally by home workers, and family members are dealing with the running of the business.
We have been manufacturing traditional styles of fishing and sailing smocks in West Cornwall since 1976.
All our smocks are made in West Penwith. Originally made from the canvas from old sails they are now manufactured in 100% cotton drill and Denim.
They are hardwearing and practical for many leisure and work pursuits. Famously known for fading and wearing with age.
The Smock Shop supporting local NHS frontline staff
Cornwall Scrubs was launched in April 2020, in response to the COVID-19 crisis when a shortage in supply for scrubs to frontline NHS staff became apparent.
The goal was to supply around 200-400 scrub sets to NHS workers in Cornwall. The response far exceeded expectations, with more than 2,000 sets of scrubs being produced by local manufacturers of clothing.
At The Smock Shop, we also stepped up to the challenge and produced 100 sets of scrubs for local NHS frontline staff.
